On the evening of 9th June 2025 a cargo ship, MV Wan Hai 503 was handling toxic substances and flammable chemicals caught fire in the India ocean near the coast of Kerala. Ship was having 22 crew members onboard out of which 18 are rescued by the Indian navy and coast guard and search operation for other 4 are underway, I.N.S. Surat and Dornier aircraft were dispatched immediately. Crew contained people of many nationalities including Taiwan, Singapore and few Chinese. All rescued crew was treated with professional and rapid response teams of India . Singapores ambassador thanked Indian navy and coastguard for their swift actions and prayed for other 4 to safely return to the coast.
